Discover the Singing Voice You Never Knew You Had
Hundreds of singers have unlocked their hidden vocal abilities through the VoiceCraft method.
Most people believe that to be a good singer, you must be born with a natural talent.
They are wrong.
The truth? Most people can develop a pleasant singing voice with proper instruction. Yet most never will—discouraged by misconceptions about talent, negative past experiences, or simply not knowing how to start.
Your extraordinary voice already exists. It's waiting to be revealed.
"What I love most about Greg is that he genuinely educates me as a vocalist. He doesn't just tell me what to do; he tells me why I'm doing it. I've had 'fancy' vocal coaches in the past who didn't explain anything; they just issued commands. With Greg, I'm becoming a better singer and a more knowledgeable vocalist. This means a lot to me."
-Ben K.
Michelangelo's David
Florence, Italy, 1501. A massive block of marble abandoned for 25 years. Where others saw worthless stone, Michelangelo saw potential.
"I saw the angel in the marble," he explained, "and carved until I set him free."
Michelangelo's David
Much like freeing a sculpture from marble, learning to sing well is about removing unintentional roadblocks that limit your natural voice. Many people try to force a particular sound or copy other singers. Instead, the VoiceCraft method helps you uncover and develop the authentic voice that has been there all along.
Many singers struggle because they are using techniques that don't suit their unique voice type or level of experience. Others have been told what to do without understanding why, leaving them dependent on their teacher rather than becoming self-sufficient.
The VoiceCraft method will help you understand the "why" behind every exercise, giving you the knowledge to continue improving long after our sessions are over. I don't create a new voice for you; I simply help you remove the specific obstacles that have been keeping your authentic voice hidden.
Like the gardener who, when asked the secret to his magnificent flowers, replied:
"I don't force them to grow—I just remove what's holding them back.”
Understand exactly what's holding your voice back.
In your first session, we'll pinpoint the specific vocal roadblocks that have frustrated you for years. This moment of clarity becomes the foundation for everything that follows. Most singers struggle because they've never been shown exactly what needs fixing. I'll identify your unique vocal challenges with precision.
"Greg has been SO amazing to work with! From the very beginning, he has been able to pinpoint exactly what I have been struggling with vocally and help personalize my lessons around that. He is great at giving you the confidence you need to succeed!"
-Jessy B.
Feel your voice respond in ways you never thought possible.
You'll discover how to actually control your voice, not just hope and pray that your high notes will land. As you feel new sensations and make new sounds, you'll realize there are simpler ways to approach singing challenges. I'll guide your exploration as you play with different tonal options, finding what works best for YOUR unique instrument. This journey of discovery opens possibilities most singers never even know exist.
"I have always had a high, breathy voice and wanted to work on tapping into my chest voice to have a tone that conveyed more confidence in the workplace. I've made such great progress, and he's been encouraging and constructive."
-Alexus M.
Turn new vocal discoveries into reliable, everyday skills.
Consistent practice with the right exercises transforms occasional vocal victories into dependable abilities. The tools I prescribe are specifically designed to address your unique habits, simplify your process, and improve efficiency. These functional exercises build the exact coordination your voice needs, creating neural pathways that make these techniques your new normal. What once required conscious effort gradually becomes your default way of singing.
"I felt like even in just a few sessions, we were able to improve my technique and voice! Greg really breaks down and explains everything so you can understand your voice as well."
-Chanz M.
Express yourself without fear, limitations, or vocal fatigue.
Remember why you wanted to sing in the first place? That pure joy returns when technique becomes automatic and you're free to focus on expression. With your new vocal skills, you'll connect more deeply with your music while impressing others with sounds they never expected to hear from you. Technical control creates artistic freedom.
"After just two lessons with Greg, I feel like my voice is free! It's like I have a whole new voice!! We isolated some poor techniques and fixed them, and I have never sounded better!"
-Valerie P.
You could continue piecing together advice from random YouTube videos, hoping something works for YOUR voice...
Or you could work with a proven method that:
Guides you through a systematic development process
Identifies precisely what's holding your voice back
Provides targeted exercises for your specific challenges
Gives real-time feedback that accelerates progress
"Greg has been an incredible coach! His ability to demonstrate proper techniques and polish my natural abilities made me feel confident and performance-ready after my first day! By far the most effective music coaching I've had."
-Dan R.
The voice telling you "it's too late" is wrong. Dead wrong.
Remember when someone told you to "just mouth the words" during the school concert? Or when that music teacher labeled you as "pitchy"? These crushing verdicts weren't just unkind—they were incorrect.
The truth? Your voice has been waiting patiently while these false judgments kept you silent.
Every week, I work with singers who believed that cruel verdict for decades, only to discover they were capable of beautiful singing all along. Their only regret? Not starting sooner.
While others keep postponing their musical dreams, you could be experiencing vocal breakthroughs within weeks.
The music inside you hasn't expired. It's still there, waiting.
They Laughed When I Told Them I Started Taking Singing Lessons But When They Heard Me Sing, They Changed Their Tune!
The VoiceCraft method has helped hundreds of singers discover their true voices—people who once thought improving their singing was a hopeless endeavor until they found the right approach.
The most important thing isn't your age or where you start—it's clearing away vocal limitations and getting out of your own way. The VoiceCraft method provides you with practical vocal tools that can transform your singing, even if you've never thought you have a "good voice" or a "musical ear."
Absolutely. The most common myth I hear is that people think they're "tone deaf." This usually isn't true. Studies show that only about 4% of the population actually has this condition. Most pitch problems are skills gaps that can be fixed with the right approach. The VoiceCraft method gives you practical tools to match pitch, develop your ear, and sing melodies accurately. Even students who've spent decades believing they couldn't carry a tune discover they can sing in tune within weeks of starting our work together.
In your 30-minute session, we'll talk about your goals with singing, listen to your current voice, and identify the specific habits limiting your singing. You'll experience what proper vocal coordination feels like, making sounds you never knew you could produce. You'll leave with a clear picture of your vocal potential and a personalized plan for development, whether you continue with lessons or not.
You'll notice exciting changes in your very first session. The real magic happens when you commit to the process. Your voice develops through consistent practice of the exercises I assign between lessons. My students who practice 3-5 times weekly see remarkable growth. The pursuit of vocal mastery is a journey, not a sprint. But here's the good news: most students are pleasantly surprised by how much better they sound after just 3 months of following the system. I give you the tools; your practice brings the transformation.
Many of my students tried other approaches first. They watched countless YouTube tutorials with conflicting advice that they didn't know how to apply or couldn't tell if they were doing it right. They worked with teachers who couldn't figure out how to help them.
The VoiceCraft method is different because it:
- Pinpoints exactly what's holding YOUR voice back
- Provides exercises that target YOUR specific challenges
- Explains WHY each technique works, not just WHAT to do
- Adapts songs to fit YOUR unique voice right now
At the VoiceCraft studio, we believe in singing at the “Speed of Fun,” which is louder than your inner critic and faster than your worry! Learning to sing is reinforced with play, curiosity, and sometimes silly exploration. Laughter is a familiar sound here. Distraction helps you stop overthinking and stumble upon greatness.
Most vocal problems result from trying too hard, not from a lack of effort. Together, we'll chip away at self-sabotaging habits and the less-than-helpful inner critic.
My students often say their biggest breakthrough wasn't technical—it was learning to get out of their own way and rediscover the joy of making sound without fear.
We'll start from where you are. For many beginners, that means learning to match pitch—the fundamental skill that enhances all other technical work.
The VoiceCraft method includes a 'singing by numbers' system, which is a simplified way of reading sheet music. It assigns a number to each note, making it easier for beginners to understand and follow. This system makes reading sheet music accessible even for complete beginners.
I provide resources to strengthen your pitch memory (what musicians call "audiation")—your ability to hear a note in your head and reproduce it with your voice. This internal sense of where pitches belong develops rapidly with the proper understanding and resources, even if you've never read a note of music before.
Many of my students choose online lessons for their convenience—no commute means you save valuable time and can learn from anywhere. Online sessions can be recorded for later review, giving you the ability to revisit techniques and exercises whenever you need them. They're also perfect for those days when the weather turns bad or when you're feeling slightly under the weather but still want your lesson.
Both formats lead to excellent results with the VoiceCraft approach. I've designed specific techniques to make virtual lessons highly effective, adapting exercises to work beautifully in the online environment. While some beginners may find subtle advantages to in-person sessions for certain aspects of pitch development, online students often develop stronger independent singing skills as they learn to sing without accompaniment more frequently. You'll make significant progress either way!
Many students come to me with no desire to perform on stage. They simply want to enjoy singing without self-consciousness—in the shower, in the car, or with friends.
That said, I encourage all students to set goals that motivate their practice. Some find that our optional student recitals (held several times yearly) provide gentle motivation. These casual gatherings create low-pressure deadlines for preparation, allow you to learn by watching others, and yes, the applause feels pretty great. The choice to perform in these recitals is yours. I’ll be there to support, whether you want to perform in front of many or just your house plants.
Consistency matters more than duration. My most successful students practice 15-20 minutes, 3-5 times per week. During each lesson, we record your personalized exercises as voice memos on your phone, so you can sing along wherever you are.
These aren't cookie-cutter one-size-fits-all warm-ups—they're targeted exercises that build specific skills your voice needs right now. Each week, we adjust and progress these exercises as your voice and skills grow. Repetition is truly the mother of learning when it comes to singing. The habits you build through consistent practice become your new default.
"Greg is awesome, and his expertise is worth the investment! Within our first consultation, he did an in-depth analysis of the problems I was having with my voice. The exercises are very individualized to fit my voice and the songs I want to sing."
-Sam S.
My singing journey began with the same self-doubt that many students experience. I felt that tension when singing in front of others. I know the frustration of trying to hit notes that seem out of reach.
I understand the anxiety of auditions, the disappointment of not getting callbacks or being cast, the sting of rejection, and the question of whether I'd ever have the skills to succeed. I've been there, questioning whether I had what it took.
I've performed in dozens of musical theatre and opera productions throughout Utah, appearing at Hale Centre Theatre Sandy, University of Utah Opera, Utah Symphony and Opera, West Valley Performing Arts, and Kensington Theatre.
My roles include George Widener in "Titanic," Oberon in "Phantom," Gaston and Cogsworth in "Beauty and the Beast," Man in the Yellow Suit in "Tuck Everlasting," Diesel in "West Side Story," Nemorino in "Elixir of Love," and Ramiro in "La Cenerentola."
These diverse performance experiences inform my teaching, regardless of whether my students' goals are to sing on stage, in the studio, or simply along to the radio in their own car. The principles of great singing remain the same across all contexts.
I've studied with exceptional vocal coaches who transformed my own singing. Each lesson revealed new insights about vocal mechanics and artistic expression that I bring directly to my teaching.
I continuously immerse myself in vocal pedagogy, performance psychology, and practical application. This balance of traditional wisdom and modern understanding allows me to solve vocal problems other teachers might miss.
My students benefit from this ongoing pursuit—receiving guidance that's both time-tested and innovative.
When you step into a lesson, I don't just hear your voice; I listen with trained ears to identify what it needs right now. This responsive approach is not a one-size-fits-all solution, but a personalized plan that targets exactly what will move you forward fastest.
There's no wasted time on exercises that don't serve your current development. Your journey is unique, and your training should reflect that.
Instead of pushing techniques before you're ready, which can create problems you'll need to fix later, we build your voice on a solid foundation, step by step. This approach prevents the frustration of having to unlearn bad habits down the road.
My students once stood where you might be standing now:
Frustrated by their inability to match pitch
Unsure how to get better.
Afraid to join in during "Happy Birthday" at parties
Embarrassed by their voice cracking during higher notes
Missing out on the joy of performing
Through personalized training, these same students transformed their voices, now they:
Sing beautifully with confidence
Perform at Hale Centre Theatre
Tour around the world with the One Voice Children's Choir
Get cast in lead roles in school productions
Are selected for solo spots in community choirs
Your voice is already within you. The songs you've always dreamed of singing are within your reach.
Every day you wait is another day of believing the myth that you simply "weren't born with a good voice."
Your journey from doubt to enjoyment begins with this single step.
